What the material actually changes
Every gram you take out of the frame makes the kite respond faster and fly in less wind โ that's why serious sport and power kites use carbon. But stiffness cuts both ways: a rigid spar that can't flex puts all the crash energy into the joint, so carbon frames splinter where fiberglass springs back.

Fiberglass for learners, carbon for flyers. Most beginner deltas ship with fiberglass for exactly this reason. Once you go stunt and stop breaking things, carbon is the upgrade.
